Hello, prospective Caz Piano Campers!

Here’s all the information you need to know
about the 2011 program.

The piano program has become one of our most popular programs and has been filling up early, so read the instructions below and get your completed registration form and audition in as soon as possible. We will need an audition tape from all campers whether you have been to the program before or not.

Audition Requirements
Cazadero requires a recorded audition from all prospective campers for the piano program. This needs to be an audio/visual format recording as it will be used to evaluate te student's technique as well as musicality. We can accept standard VHS videotapes, most DVD's, or YouTube uplinks. Piano students should submit this audition immediately after registration so that the instructor will have time to review it before the start of camp. If submitted for review after March 31, 2011, please call the office at 510-527-7500 to see if there is still space available.

Audition Mechanics
We can accept standard VHS, DVD, or a YouTube uplink. Recordings may be made specifically for this audition, or you may submit a recording from a recital or other performance. The tape must show the students hands as they play.

Music Choices
Campers should play at least two pieces: one up-tempo and one slower piece, to emphasize the student's abilities in both areas. Music choices should be classical unless the student is auditioning for the jazz program** as well, in which case a jazz piece should be added to the above.

** Jazz Piano is available for one week only during a two-week session. Therefore, the student should have enough technique in the classical genre to accept instruction and play in ensembles in the second week.
