We are looking for your Cazadero story!

Did you at Cazadero:

•  Learn you really can play your musical instrument or sing that challenging piece?

•  Develop some long lasting friendships?

•  Celebrate a birthday by walking around the tables as the entire camp sang “Happy Birthday” to you?

•  Become inspired to become a professional musician?

•  See your first really big redwood tree?

•  Overcome your fear of heights and jump off of the platform into Austin Creek ? (yes, it used to be deep enough to do such things)

•  Meet your future spouse?

We know each of you has that Cazadero story to share. The reunion committee will be putting together a book of memories for the 50 th Reunion Party on July 22 and want to include as many as possible.

In order to be included, please read the following note from Becky.

Dear Caz Alumni,

I have been invited to create a memory book for the 50th reunion at Cazadero this summer.  Initially I was to interview my parents and write a book about their Caz stories.  The more I thought about it though I knew it couldn't just be about my parents,  the Caz family was never limited just to the Lutts.  The Caz family is about all who attended, all who of us who experienced the magic, and all of us who witnessed personal transformations and created indelible connections and memories.  We all have stories to share.

I invite each of you to send me a memory of Caz and if possible attach a photo of yourself then or now.  If you can, keep the stories clean, and I promise I will edit as lightly as possible.

Best Regards,

Here is an example from Steve Cannon, 1969 K-Crew
Since we had just recently placed a man on the moon (1969), we thought that being the first man through the dishwasher would be a similarly notable accomplishment.  Dave Epstein, Dave Claudeanos, Kent and some others were present for my foray into the dark recesses of the unknown.  Little did we know that someone else had done the same thing a few years before, but it wasn't until one of the restored camp parties that I found out that I was NOT, in fact, the first nimrod to brave that void.  My biggest concern was that at 190 pounds, I might break the dishwasher, but it proved tough enough to handle my weight.  Dave Epstein was the Buzz Aldren to my emulation of Neil Armstrong, but then it turned out that I wasn't Neil after all.  What a let down!
