Each summer, Cazadero is proud to help budding musicians take their talent to a new level. We help students develop technical ability, music comprehension, confidence, creativity and ensemble performance skill. Because students are engaged in five hours of practice each day, they make rapid progress at camp.
Cazadero’s core program consists of five hours each day of small and large group instruction in Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble or Concert Band. Also offered: Classical and jazz piano, and classical guitar, as well as an All Camp Choir for our Young Musicians and Middle School Sessions.
Caz strikes a balance between in-depth music education and carefree summer camp fun. Though challenging, our practice schedule includes plenty of time for rest and play. Campers also enjoy a variety of music electives along with sports, arts and crafts, ecology, and other activities. Each day closes with an evening program such as a campfire, talent show, or staff concert. At night, campers sleep on tent decks under majestic redwoods and a star filled sky. The week culminates in a formal concert performance by our students, attended by proud family and friends.
Campers at Caz are challenged by a rigorous curriculum, but the Caz magic also comes from the inspirational setting and the love and care that the staff bring to teaching our young musicians. Through immersion in music and nature, Caz teaches important life skills such as teamwork, respect, compassion, goal setting, and leadership.
Cazadero Summer Music Camp offers one and two-week sessions based on age and musical experience and ability. Learn more about How to Register and our JumpStart in Music program.
