Food at Cazadero is an integral part of our overall camp philosophy; we believe providing great food along with a chance to sit down and connect with each other during meals encourages a happy and healthy camp community.
The kitchen at Caz provides a diverse and high-quality menu with a variety of fresh, nutritious, and delicious choices. Campers and staff enjoy three meals per day served buffet style that offer a wide range of options.
Campers sit with their unit mates and counselors at a designated table. Counselors encourage good table manners and monitor that campers are eating well-balanced meals. We require hand washing before every meal to help ensure the health of our camp community. Each cabin group is responsible for cleaning up their dining table at the end of each meal.
You can find lots of photos of typical meals at Caz on our Dining at Caz tab in our Photo Gallery!
Dietary Needs & Food Allergies
Lunchtime
At Caz, we offer a wide variety of menu items that provide choices for selective campers to pick and choose and still create a nutritional, well balanced meal. We can accommodate most special dietary needs with our regular daily meal offerings.
For more acute allergies or sensitivities parents should provide complete information on the Health History Form (or the JumpStart Registration Form for JumpStart campers). Please tell us about any special food needs so that we can be sure to stock enough of each type of food for your camper’s session at camp. In the case of a very restricted diet, parents may be contacted by our staff to clarify the concerns and discuss the possibility of supplemental foods. If you have questions regarding food accommodations, please call our office at (510) 527-7500.
Celebrating Birthdays
Having a birthday at Caz is a special treat! If your child’s birthday falls during their summer camp session, our kitchen staff will make a delicious treat in their honor and the entire camp will mark the occasion with Caz’s special birthday song tradition.
