| Dear Friends of Caz, The redwood forest was once again alive with music, friendship, and inspiration this year at Cazadero Music Camp, and it is all thanks to you. We are thrilled to report that we welcomed 1,152 young musicians through our JumpStart and Summer Camp programs, bringing the total number of students served since reopening in 1996 to over 28,000! It was an unforgettable season, and this community’s support made it possible. Your belief in our mission enabled us to award financial aid to 227 campers this year, ensuring that budding musicians could attend, regardless of their financial circumstances. Nearly 1 of every 4 summer campers is attending thanks to financial aid. We need your help to be able to keep our scholarship program robust. The impact of this support is best expressed by the families themselves: This past summer was our daughter’s first time at Cazadero and the experience made a profound difference for her. At the end of 5th grade, she had a difficult time with friendships…. I could see how sad she felt inside. After camp, however, she came back smiling, snapping her fingers, and even singing with confidence. She told me, “I can’t wait for school to start so I can meet new friends.” Cazadero gave her not only joy and confidence, but also the courage to try new things. The transformation in her outlook has been wonderful to witness. Thank you for helping create such a positive, life changing experience for our daughter. As we look ahead, our goal is to continue making this life-changing experience accessible to even more young people. Unfortunately, camper fees do not cover the quickly increasing costs of running camp, and scholarship needs are higher than ever.
